How is progress assessed? |
Progress is assessed in a number of ways. Tomatis Listening Tests are completed after every 15 hours of therapy. This allows us to gauge the effect that the Tomatis Therapy is having. Detailed observation notes are compiled after every 2 hour therapy session by the Listening therapists. In this way we are able to track a child's development. Consultation with parents is another vital source of information regarding a child's progress. Parents meet with a Tomatis Consultant every 15 hours of therapy, to discuss the results of the listening test, the summary of the observation notes, and to get feedback on how the child is getting on in their daily activities outside of the centre. This information is vital, not only to the parents, but also to the Tomatis Consultants as it provides the information for a child's individual programme to be fine tuned and further tailored to each individual child's needs. At the end of each stage, the Tomatis Consultant will make reccomendations about whether further stages of therapy are considered necessary.
