Prof Wynand F. Du Plessis, D.Phil., is Director of the Institute for Psychotherapy and Counselling and is Associate Professor in Psychology at the NW University, S.A.

He has been registered with the Health Professions Council of S.A. as a clinical psychologist since 1977 and he received his D.Phil. degree in 1983.

He is involved in delivering professional psychological services at the Institute, provides training for intern psychologists, has a limited teaching responsibility and supervises post-graduate students.

His field of specialisation is the Tomatis method of sound stimulation and accompanying psychotherapy.

He is an honorary member of the International Association of Registered Certified Tomatis Consultants  (IARCTC)  and editorial member of Richochet: International Journal of Tomatis Method Research.
